Information
Last year, we presented our connected elevator platform: embedded screens, Kubernetes, CI/CD, NATS, MQTT… a project where cloud-native technology meets elevator shafts.
To tell this story on stage, we had to step back, document the existing architecture, and explain technical choices, some of which had been made several years earlier. This exercise highlighted several limitations in our architecture.
Taking a fresh look at the platform led to a number of changes: simplifying certain components, challenging historical decisions, and improving several aspects of the platform.
In this session, we’ll look at what changed: the mistakes we fixed and the choices we would make differently today.
A technical retrospective where, ultimately, explaining your architecture turned out to be an excellent way to improve it.
