Information
With more than 1,000 applications, 40,000 COBOL programs, 10,000 virtual machines, and 3,000 production releases per year, the IT department of Mutualité Sociale Agricole (iMSA) operates in a highly complex IT environment. This conference shares our feedback on the ongoing large-scale DevOps transformation to unify and automate the delivery of all our application products, from the most recent to the oldest, all within an environment of internal control and segregation of responsibilities imposed by French regulations. Historically centered on a COBOL base, our information system has gradually integrated new Java and Angular technologies and containerized architectures. This heterogeneity represents a major challenge for Release Management, both in terms of agility and traceability and resilience. We are redesigning our tools and deployment processes to address three key challenges: • Team autonomy in managing their production releases • Delivery agility across all technologies, from legacy to cloud-native • Internal control and traceability, essential for a public body The presentation will detail the stages of this transformation: mapping and streamlining delivery chains, integrating DevOps tools, rights and audit management, continuous deployment in a high-volume multi-site context. A concrete and inspiring testimony for any organization faced with the coexistence of legacy and modern applications, and wishing to successfully complete its DevOps transition without compromising on security and governance.
